Wilson has fished with FLW since 1997. His first victory came quickly, happening at Wheeler Lake in 1998. In 2012 he won the Nitro Pro Big Bucks Bass Trail in Birmingham, AL. Later that year, he qualified and fished his first season as a pro on the FLW Tour and narrowly missed notching a top-10 finish at Lake Champlain, placing 12th. In 2013, Wilson added two more FLW Tour top-10 finishes to his resume at Beaver Lake and Grand Lake. He went on to qualify and compete in the FLW Forrest Wood Cup for both 2013 and 2014 seasons. In 2017, Wilson missed winning back-to-back tournaments with 2nd place finishes at both Cumberland Lake (FLW Tour) and Chickamauga Lake (current Toyota Series).

When not bass fishing, Wilson enjoys salt water fishing, hunting and football. Wilson played college football and was a running back at Auburn University. He loves traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife and two children.
